What to include

The more the fitter knows before they call, the quicker they can confirm the right glass. A few lines is enough:

  • Your suburb. We pass enquiries to fitment businesses by area.
  • The vehicle: make, model and year. The VIN helps the fitter match the glass, but do not put it in the form; they will ask for it if needed.
  • What is damaged: a chip, a crack, a shattered screen, a side or rear window.
  • Whether there is a camera or sensor behind the rear-view mirror.
  • Whether you are claiming on insurance, and the name of the insurer if you know it.
  • Where the vehicle will be: at home, at work, in an estate or office park.

What happens next

We pass your enquiry to an independent auto-glass fitment business that covers your suburb and does the kind of work you need. The fitter contacts you directly, confirms the glass for your vehicle and quotes you. You decide whether to go ahead.

We do not do the work and we do not set the price. If we cannot find a fitment business that covers your suburb, we will tell you.

Before the fitter arrives

If the screen is cracked but intact, cover any chip with clear tape and avoid blasting hot or cold air onto the glass. If a side window is broken, do not drive with loose glass in the door or on the seats. If the damage came from hail, report the claim to your insurer first and keep photos. Our guide to windscreen insurance claims explains the usual steps.

Your information

We ask only for what a fitter needs to contact you about this enquiry. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not add you to a mailing list. Please do not put ID numbers, policy numbers, bank details or passwords in the message. Read our privacy policy for how we handle personal information under POPIA, and our terms of use.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a phone number?

The business phone number is still to be confirmed. Please use the form for now. [CONFIRM: business phone number]

How soon will a fitter contact me?

That depends on the fitment business and the time of year. We do not promise response times we cannot control. If it is urgent, for example a shattered screen or an open window after a break-in, say so in the message.

Will my details be sent to lots of companies?

No. We use your details only to pass on this enquiry. [CONFIRM: the maximum number of fitment businesses an enquiry is shared with]

Can I send a photo of the damage?

Not through this form yet. The fitter may ask for a photo when they contact you.
